The International Conference on Electronic Commerce brings together the top of the scientific research community in e-commerce and e-business from all over the world.
The theme of this conference is The New E-Commerce: Innovations for Conquering Current Barriers, Obstacles and Limitations to Conducting Successful Business on the Internet. While more and more people do business on the Internet each year, statistics show that the volume of online transactions is still a small fraction of worldwide expenditures. Some of the major reasons cited for the drag on e-commerce growth include (but are not limited to) the lack of trust in the privacy and security of personal information transmissions, the inefficiency or inability of buyers to find optimal matches with sellers and vice versa, and also human factors such as usability, efficiency and understandability. This installment of ICEC will focus on the discovery of innovative techniques and technologies that strive toward overcoming these difficulties and set the foundation for new research endeavors that will allow e-commerce to grow much more rapidly in the years to come.
